But I do. I know it breaks all of the man rules, but there's just something about the Beetle R-Line Cab that calls to me. And triple-black manual? Fuggedaboutit.

If it drives anything like the hardtop turbo (and i'll fill you in on a secret, it does!!!) it's a great choice

As long as there's no flower vase there's at least one it doesn't break. That being said I like the coupe versions and they are definitely getting some cred with GRC.

Oh I know it does. That's probably why the want is so strong. Its one of the few affordable convertibles that doesn't feel like its lost its handling chops.

I am, and I do. That's how I got the job actually. Good place, in digging it!

This gen beetle and the type 1 I like. The 2003-2011 beetles suck

Awesome. Next time I bring the Phaeton in, I'll know it's in good hands.

The flower vase is gone, thank God. I like both versions, and I could definitely end up taking a hardtop with sunroof instead.
We just went to the GRC event in DC this past weekend. It was so much fun, but its going to be a lot better to watch. once Scott and Tanner get into the Beetles.

Same as how I feel. The 2000s version seemed like a shameless rip-off, as where the new one feels like they legitimately tried to honor the original.

Its a fun little car, just don't expect people to move out of the passing lane if they see one behind them. Enterprise gave me one some time ago in Red, pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was, but felt like my masculinity was diminishing. lol

Of course it will be. We might fight over who gets to wash it though...

A girl at my school drives a 2013 2.5 convertible with the 5-speed. With the top down and ESP off, it was a blast to be in (I wasn't driving, and the road may not have been paved)
If i had the money to buy one, I'd rip up my man card, and get a red on cream one right away

I don't get that feeling. But in my mind I classify this car in with the Mini, Veloster, and Juke. Interesting looking cars that can kick a little ass too.

You are starting to feel me. I love the new Beetle, it is a perfect design of modern and classic bunddled in a package of high quality and solidity. I want a GSR so badly!

Ehh, according to my roommate who interns at Autoweek, aint no body like the GSR. The cabrio should just be a sloppier version of that. (pic from instagram)

Sorry, "man rules" are for the insecure.
I don't care for Miatas (yes I know, shun me now) but I immediately judge anyone who goes LOL MAN CARD SURE HE'S NOT YOUR GIRLFRIEND when they hear my boyfriend drives one, and I like him even more because he drives what he wants and doesn't give a damn.

They had an Autocross course set up at GRC this past weekend, and I got to take the GSR around it. So sweet.

The Cabrio doesn't really handle any worse. Maybe at 9-10/10s, but in normal driving you don't notice any difference.

If I could have one new car it would be a triple black beetle R-Line. I would name it Black Betty.

Yes! And also, you can do your private one in any deserted parking garage of your preference!
